[Side Quest] Research on AI Aid in Animation Production

Much advice is taken from our module lead, Ricky Ng, and he would like to offer a side quest on our project, "Research on AI Aid in Animation Production". Here is the outcome which would contribute to the mid-fidelity prototype.

Researched Content

AI-Aid can diverge into different stages of production, from pre-production to post-production. The examples are...

1. NLP (Natual Language Processing) for text, scripts, and dialogue Analysis

• Basically, chat-GPT is enough to handle this task.

2. Generative AI for Character Alternative Clothes Design

• The latest development in PolyU Textile Center helps students with BA(Hons) in Textile and Fashion use AI Aids to design garments [1][2] (‘Weaving AI into fashion design with the world’s first designer-led AI system | Spring 2023 Issue 10 | Excel x Impact@PolyU’, 2023).

  
  

3. Procedural Generation Environment in Animation

• Like Autodesk Maya (Material) Procedural Generation to texture your model, with 3d texture procedurally [3].

  
  

4. Colour Grading Aid for Colorist

• The existing example of an AI tool [4] for colour grading and mood boards.
